Army conducts plantation drive

RAJOURI, July 20: The Ace of Spades Division launched a plantation drive “Towards A Greener Rajouri” on Saturday.
As part of this plantation drive launched on the initiative of the General Officer Commanding, 25 Infantry Division, various units in Rajouri under the aegis of the Ace of Spades Division are undertaking tree plantation in and around the Rajouri town. A large number of saplings have already been planted along the perimeter boundary of Rane Hawai Patti (Advance Landing Ground ) to increase the green cover of the area. The army will eventually plant more than 5000 tree saplings of different varieties within the town area.
By planting saplings as part of the plantation drive, the Ace of Spades Division aims to enhance the green cover of the town and transform Rajouri into a greener and better place to live in.
As part of the same drive, Valley View Army Public School under the aegis of Ace of Spades Arty Bde has undertaken a plantation drive within the school premises. Children from all the classes participated enthusiastically in the drive, planting more than 350 saplings within the school and neighboring area. By doing so, the children are making their contribution towards the development and improvement of Rajouri and serve as an inspiration to the students of other schools to contribute in the plantation drive.
