DC Kathua files status report

JAMMU, June 6 (JNF): In Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against land-grabbing by politicians and top bureaucrats, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kathua today filed affidavit regarding compliance of court order.
In the PIL against alleged nexus between politicians, police officers and bureaucrats allegedly in connivance with land mafia and underworld in various parts of J&K, Deputy Commissioner Kathua today filed compliance report in which he stated that no case pertaining to the conferring of rights under J&K State lands Vesting of Ownership to the Occupants) Act, 2001 has been registered. In the affidavit, it has also been mentioned that land measuring 92 Kanal 6 marlas falling in Khasra number 16, 38 and 39 in village Krandi Khurd of tehsil Hiranagar district Kathua is hereby kept under the ‘Sapurddari’ of Tehsildar, Hiranagar. He will ensure that no encroachment is made by any person in the said land and also sought periodic reports from Naib-Tehsildar and Patwari.
The division bench of state High Court comprising Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar and Justice B L Bhat observed that affidavit has been filed by Deputy Commissioner Kathua stating therein that court order has been complied with and directed registry to list this PIL after vacations.
