Sports play pivotal role in personality development: DG sports

BARAMULLA, May 13: Co-ordination in educational institutions for promotion of sports and games not only increases efficiency of an individual but also develops team spirit among the sports persons.
This was stated by Director General Youth Services and Sports, Naveen Agarwal in a daylong function organised by Department of Youth Services & Sports at Sheerwani Hall, Baramulla here today.
On the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla, Deputy Director Sports, District Youth Sports Officer, Baramulla were also present.
Aggarwal on the occasion urged for exploring the talent of sports persons for which sports have been declared a compulsory subject at primary level besides provide equal opportunity to the young generation to prove their mettle in all walks of the life as the sports and games play an important role in personality development.
Later, Cricket and other sports kits were provided to Heads of the Institutions of various Middle and High Schools of Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara districts.
