|JAMMU, Jul 2: A large number of students of Institute of Engineering & Computer Sciences (IECS Polytechnic) Purkhoo Camp, Domana, who appeared in their final examination in 3-year Diploma Course in Mechanical and Electrical Engineer branches, were selected for undergoing Skill Development Training (SDT) under the project “Udaan”, a joint initiative by Government of India and Government of Jammu and Kashmir. |
The initiative has been launched to give exposure to fresh degree and diploma holders in the field of Engineering and Technology. In the recently concluded selection drive through Indian Institute of Skill Development Private Limited Gurgaon, more than one hundred students of IECS Polytechnic were selected for a 6-months industrial training after which, they would likely to be placed in reputed multinational companies getting very good emoluments. In addition four students of Mechanical Engineering department of this institution were placed in Tata Motors during a placement drive held in Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk.
Earlier fifteen students from Electronics and Communication, Computer Engineer and Information Technology departments were placed in companies like Tele performances, GENPACT, Tata and Wipro.
