Sunday Market back; Vendors, customers throng market

SRINAGAR, Feb 23: Sunday Market was back here today after a break of two Sundays.
Large number of vendors set up their stalls in the Sunday Market from TRC Crossing to Lal Chowk. Hundreds of customers thronged the market for purchasing of their choice.
The vendors had set up the stalls on the footh path of Residency Road, Lal Chowk, Polo View and TRC Crossing. They had also occupied some portion of the road making the vehicular traffic movement difficult.
On February 9 the Sunday Market was closed due to a shutdown on the death anniversary of Mohammad Afzal Guru. Next Sunday the officials did not permit the vendors to set up stalls citing security concerns.
On February 2 a grenade attack was carried out at Pratap Park in which two security men and five civilians were injured. The blast occurred when there was rush in the Sunday Market.
