Militant associate arrested in Budgam

SRINAGAR, Feb 21: An alleged militant associate who according to police was providing logistic support to active militants of Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit was arrested from Khansahab area of central Budgam today.
A check point (Naka) based on credible inputs was established by the police at Khansahab area of Budgam. Officials upon checking after intercepting one Saqib Ahmad Lone of Wager Khansahab recovered incriminating material from his possession.
Saqib according to police besides being involved in assisting active militants of Jaish-e-Muhammad was providing logistic support and shelter to them.
Confirming the arrest, a police spokesman in a statement said the incriminating material recovered from his possession has been taken into records to probe his involvement in militant activities.
“As per police records he is involved in assisting active militants of proscribed militant outfit JeM operating in Khansahab area besides providing logistic support and shelter ,” spokesman added.
He further said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at police station Khansahab and further investigation taken up.
