Hurriyat can’t set goals for movement: Shabir

SRINAGAR, July 22: Senior separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah today said Hurriyat Conference cannot set the goal for the ongoing movement.
“The goal-freedom-has already been set and Hurriyat is a source for achieving it. Some people are under this wrong impression that Hurriyat has to set the goal for the movement,” he said. Shabir stated that Hurriyat is important till it is on the path of achieving the goal as the conglomerate was constituted to take the movement to its logical conclusion.
He was addressing workers of his party Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) here. The workers had come from Anantnag, Shopian, Kulgam and Pulwama.
“Our efforts are to make Hurriyat a strong people’s movement. Hurriyat is the voice of the freedom sentiment of people and guardian of the sacrifices of the people. I appeal the freedom people to extend their support for making Hurriyat an effective joint plateform,” Shabir said.
