Huge rush at Sunday Market

SRINAGAR, Dec 15: Amid partial shutdown in several parts of Valley, and improved weather conditions, the Sunday Market here witnessed huge rush of vendors and customers today.
Large number of vendors had set up their stalls from TRC Crossing to Lal Chowk in Sunday Market and customers in thousands visited for the purchasing. The improved weather conditions also added to the number of customers.
The partial shutdown in several parts of Valley continues to affect life since August 5 when Articles 370 and 35A were scrapped and J&K state downgraded into two union territories.
The internet and pre-paid mobile phone services are also suspended since August 5.
The vendors had set up stalls on foot path and part of Residency Road in Sunday Market today.
The increasing rush affected the traffic movement. The authorities had sealed Residency Road from TRC Crossing to Polo View.
In some areas, the shops remained open till afternoon, while in other areas they were open for the entire day.
The public transport is plying back on roads. While on some roads it plied partially, on other roads there was massive traffic rush. Private transport continued to ply on large scale.
