Vaishno Devi gets season's first snowfall

KATRA, Dec 13: Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine witnessed the season's first snowfall last evening, worsening cold wave conditions enroute the pilgrimage.
The yatra was, however, going on smoothly with more than 15,000 pilgrims undertaking the pilgrimage on Friday. Helicopter services for the pilgrims have been suspended in view of the continuous snowfall in the Trikuta hills, where the shrine is situated. Due to the snowfall, cold conditions were prevailing enroute the cave shrine, but the pilgrimage was going on smoothly, said officials, adding that over 15,000 pilgrims undertook the yatra on Friday.
