Nasir dares Mufti to present road map in J&K assembly
SRINAGAR, Aug 1: National Conference provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani on Thursday ridiculed Peoples Democratic Party patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed’s assertion vis-à-vis “imaginary solution” to Kashmir issue if given 40 seats.

He chose to remind PDP leaders that with 16 seats they divided the state, if ever they could get 40 seats, which, he said, the people would never let them one could only foresee death and destruction.

“If there is anything that PDP or its leaders cannot be faulted for, it is the fact that they have no dearth of cunning tricks in their kitty,” said Wani in a press statement.

“Their latest plea to the people of the state to give his party 40 seats in 2014 was one clear cut example of this. They are trying to cash in and trade on the false solution to the Kashmir imbroglio,” he added.

Castigating the PDP, Nasir asked the PDP patron not to deprive the people of the state with his so called ‘final solution.’

“Let us all know if you have anything else stored except deception, slur and selling false dreams,” mocked Nasir adding, “Our Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is on record saying that if anyone has a better solution than restoration of Autonomy we can discuss it, I fail to understand why are they so shy to share it with us or the people of the Jammu and Kashmir.

“If you still have vision and a road map why don’t you present that in the state assembly,” asked Nasir.

“You and your senior leaders could make an exception by being present in the state assembly in the ensuing session of J&K Legislature and enlighten all of us about the great vision of your party,” the provincial president said in a statement.

While reiterating that autonomy is the only viable solution, the party’s provincial president said, “Autonomy report and the resolution adopted by the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly represents the true aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and it has the approval of two-third majority of the state’s legislature, which makes it the only constitutionally approved document.”

Stating that PDP is a sinking ship, Nasir said, “This party and its leaders are so horrified with the future as they are perceiving that to keep their flock intact they are issuing such bizarre statements,” adding “People are well versed with their petty politics and politically aware about false bait that Mufti is dangling before them.”

Nasir said, “Their statements reflect only desperation.”
