Investigation in right direction: Police

SRINAGAR, July 25: Police today said investigation into the murder of two minors at Bemina is going in right direction and they are expecting some breakthrough soon.
Talking to Kashmir, SHO Batamaloo, who is also investigating officer said they have taken into custody few people in the case including father of the children for questioning.
“We cannot share the initial findings of our investigation. It will hamper the investigation. Once we complete the entire investigation the details will be shared with people through media also,” he said.
The investigation officer however said that the investigation is going on in right direction and some breakthrough will be achieved soon.
The police sources, however said that they are looking for the recovery of Naseema, the mother of the two children, Mohammad Hasim and Aalia for recording her statement.
The police sources said that she is not in a position this time to record her statement as her throat has got badly injured in the murderous attempt.
The doctors treating her said that she is out of danger, but she is not able talk due to her injuries.
The reports also said the assailants slit the throat of Iftikhar Ahmad's wife, Naseema, and two children with a sharp edged weapon. The trio, lying in a pool of blood, was rushed to hospital when the cleric returned home from the mosque.
The father of the deceased children Iftikhar Ahmad and few others had been taken into custody by police for questioning.
Iftikhar in his statement said that he was sleeping on the “Hamam” of the Al Noor Masjid after the morning prayers, when the incident happened in the residential room of the Masjid, especially made for him by the locals.
Iftikhar also said his injured wife rushed to him from the residential room to inform him about the incident. But she immediately fainted as lot of blood was coming out from her throat.
