Army jawan commits suicide

JAMMU, Jul 25: Two persons, including an army jawan, allegedly committed suicide in two separate incidents in Jammu and Reasi districts on Thursday.
A police officer said that Sepoy Jitender Rathore of 19 Armoured Regiment shot himself dead with his INSAS service rifle after his duty at Chatha army cantonment in Jammu city around 0430 hours today.
Rathore who belonged to Faridabad in Haryana died on the spot. He was shifted to Government Medical College hospital Jammu for post-mortem, he said adding that a case had been registered in this regard.
In another incident, 42-year-old Bashir Ahmed Gujjar was found hanging at his house in Kote Bag belt of Mahore tehsil in Reasi district around 0815 hours today, the police officer said.
