All the shops and business establishments, remained closed in the vicinity amid closure of all educational institutions as ordered by the district administration.
Authorities deployed additional companies of police and paramilitary CRPF as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order in the area.
Reports said all the entry and exit points leading towards the residence of slain militant at Aramapora were sealed, however the mourners continued visiting his residence to offer condolence.
It is pertinent to mention here that police had declared north Kashmir as militant free after three local militants were killed in an encounter with government forces in Baramulla in January this year.
Trio was trapped in an underground hideout at a village orchard some 8 kilometers from Baramulla town.
“The Baramulla police district is now without any surviving militant. These three were last active militants operating in Baramulla and affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba,” police had said after killing of the trio.
