Strong winds with rain in Valley; Man dies, property damaged

SRINAGAR, July 15: Strong winds with rain occurred in several parts of Kashmir this evening.
One person was killed in Hajin area in a subsequent mishap.
Trees were uprooted in several areas and they damaged vehicles and structures.
Reports said that a teenaged student of was killed when a cow shed collapsed and fell on him due to strong winds at Mukhdam Yari of Hajin area. He was identified as Tahir Salam Kahnday.
A Chinar tree near Girls High School Dadasara in Tral area of Pulwama was uprooted and caused damage.
A residential house, some shops, a 250 KV transformer, and some vehicles were damaged due to the fall.
Standing crops and orchards too suffered damage.
