4 stolen two-wheelers, one Tata Magic recovered
RAJOURI, Jun 23: Busting a gang of thieves, Rajouri police Sunday arrested four persons and recovered four two wheelers and a Tata Magic from their possession.
Senior superintendent of police, Yougal Manhas said that during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, a team of police from Manjakote police station headed by Station House Officer (SHO) Manzoor Kohli under the supervision of Sub Divisional Police Officer Manjakote, Nisar Khoja was on routine night patrol when three persons were found roaming suspiciously on a tractor.
Police team intercepted them and started to inquire their whereabouts and the reason for moving in darkness during which they fumbled and failed to give any satisfactory answer after which they were detained and taken to police station, said SSP.
He added that trio was put to questioning in police station during which they confessed for involvement in thefts of vehicles, especially two wheelers, from the area and also informed that the tractor they were travelling was being used to carry stolen two wheelers.
They also informed about involvement of another person in their racket after which raids were conducted at several suspected locations and fourth accused was also nabbed.
Those who were arrested included Wasim Khan son of Mohammad Farooq resident of Mangalnar Manjakote, Khaliq Bhatti son of Mohammad Khaliq resident of Deri Ralyote, Tanveer Shah son of Taj Shah resident of Sanai Poonch and Haq Nawaz alias Mehboob Shah resident of Sanai Surankote.
On their disclosure, teams of police headed by SDPO Manjakote Nisar Khoja and SHO Manzoor Kohli raided at multiple locations and five vehicles including three motorcycles, one scooty and one Tata Magic auto were recovered which were stolen by them from areas of Poonch district.
“Police also registered a case in FIR 88/2019 under sections 379 RPC in Manjakote police station with further investigation of the case is going on and more recoveries are expected in the matter,” SSP said.
