SPP removal challenged; HC calls record

JAMMU, July 22 (JNF): Justice A M Magrey today called the record and issued notice to Additional Advocate General (AAG) Gagan Basotra for appearance on July 26, 2013 in a petition seeking quashing of SRO 324
Vis-à-vis cancellation of appointment of advocate L K Sharma as Special Public Prosecutor in much publicized Chopra murder case.
The petition was filed by Puneet Chopra son of late R B Chopra seeking quashing of SRO 324 dated July 10, 2013 whereby Secretary Law department had cancelled the appointment of advocate L K Sharma as Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) in Chopra murder case.
Justice Magrey after hearing senior advocate Sunil Sethi with advocate Mohsin Nabi Bhat appearing for the Puneet Chopra called the record and issued notice to AAG Gagan Basotra for appearance on July 26, 2013.
