BSF officer shoots to death in Poonch

MENDHAR, Feb 21: An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday committed suicide by shooting self with his service rifle at Balnoi along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu.
Official sources told KTNS, ASI GD Karamvir Singh (48) of 168 BSF, a resident of Panipath Harayana, posted at forward area of Balnoi in Mankote shot himself inside a bunker while he was on duty this afternoon. The officer suffered serious injuries in the incident.
Following the gunshot, the colleagues rushed towards the officer and found him in a pool of blood, he said, adding that the officer was immediately taken to a nearby health facility where doctors declared him brought dead.
Meanwhile, the officer said that a case was registered and further investigations were taken up.
