India, Pak trade fire on IB, LoC

JAMMU, Jan 20: In a yet another incident of ceasefire violation, Pakistani Rangers on Sunday fired unprovoked along International Border (IB) in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district in Jammu region.
BSF spokesperson, while confirming ceasefire violation, stated that Indian troops effectively retaliated to the firing.
In the meanwhile, India and Pak also traded fire in Rajouri sector. Official sources said that Pakistani army had been firing unprovoked for the past two weeks in Poonch and Rajouri sectors along the Line of Control (LoC).
On the International Border, Pakistani Rangers this morning at around 1100 hours fired small arms in Hiranagar area, BSF spokesman said.
He said that the BSF troops responded by limited fire, adding, no loss or damage on Indian side was reported so far while no further firing was resorted to by either side.
Earlier on January 18, Pakistan fired small arms and violated the ceasefire on the IB while on January 15, a BSF officer was killed in sniper fire from across the border along the IB in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district.
