Kashmir boys back in team for Ranji tie against Assam

JAMMU, Nov 29: Stayed away during a match played against Madhya Pradesh in Jammu, those protesting cricketers from Kashmir have joined the team for the forthcoming Ranji Trophy Group-C tie against Assam in Guwahati.

The team, selected late yesterday night in a city hotel here, left for the venue this afternoon. However, two senior cricketers (Samiulla Beig and Majid Dar, otherwise included in the list of 15, refused to accompany the team and stayed back.

In their third match of the season, with two already lost, J&K shall take on Assam from December one.

The team is accompanied by chief coach of the state and veteran cricketer, Bishen Singh Bedi and former first class cricketer, Abdul Qayoom as coach and assistant coach respectively. Member JKCA, Shiban Lal and Physical Education Lecturer with Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Rajesh Dhar, who also works with a leading english daily, have been made manager and assistant manager respectively.

The Team: Ian Dev Singh, Ram Dayal, Parvez Rasool, Samiullah Beig, Manik Gupta, Adil Rishi, Bandeep Singh, Majid Dar, Owais Shah, Sahil Sharma, Owais Haroon, Munish Dogra, Rohit Bhat, Mudassir, Wasim Raza and Hardeep Singh.

Court grants time to conclude investigations
