Govt failed to carry on development works : PDP
RAJOURI July 13: Senior PDP leader Shahzad Khan condemned the present coalition government for its failure to carry on the developmental works in the state and particularly in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.

In a statement issued here today, Shahzad said that the state government has completely failed to continue the developmental works . He said that the flagship programmes, centrally sponsored schemes and various developmental works as laid in the annual district plans have been literally made defunct but for the apathetic attitude of the government authorities.

He said that the construction of Rajouri Stadium which was started with much hype and where crores of rupees were spent has been left half way. No work has been going on it for the last more than two years to complete it.

He further said that the Rajouri Town Hall had been utilized by the people in the past as community hall until recent past till constructional work had begun on it. It is very unfortunate that the government has taken this facility also from the people since there is no other community hall in the town. He said that the worse part is that the construction that was started has been left half way.

Giving further details of the apathetic attitude of the government Shahzad said that the new bridge that is being constructed in Rajouri town has also been left unfinished.

Shahzad said that constructional work on the district hospital has not yet completed despite passage of the stipulated time. There is still dearth of specialists, paramedics, modern diagnostic tools and equipments not only in the PHC’s but also in the district hospital.

Shahzad further said that the government seems to be taking this Rajouri –Poonch region for granted as nothing concrete is being done here for the development as the region. The funds under BADP have been thoroughly bungled, the centrally sponsored schemes to alleviate poverty are not found to be working. Regretting over the indifferent attitude of the government he said that these schemes and programmes have been completely made defunct by the present government.
