Spurious drugs scam accused surrenders

JAMMU, July 10 (JNF): As one of the alleged accused in ‘Spurious Drugs Scam’ today surrendered before court, court sent him to the custody of Crime Branch Jammu.
Mukesh Aggarwal Proprietor Suraj Enterprises, one of alleged accused in ‘Spurious Drugs Scam’ surrendered before the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu and filed bail application on medical ground.
Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Puneet Gupta observed that court is of the opinion that even the interim bail at this stage cannot be granted to the accused as prayed for the counsel for the accused. The prayer made by the prosecution during arguments that the custody of the accused is required by the Crime Branch is genuine. The accused is remanded to custody of Crime Branch till July 11, 2013 and be produced on the date before the court.
Court further directed that the medical examination of the accused as required shall also be carried out and objections to the bail application shall also be filed by the prosecution.
