AMU Students' Union elections on Nov 3, result on the same day

ALIGARH, Oct 21 (Agencies): Elections for Aligarh Muslim University Students' Union will be held on November 3. After the voting is held, the counting will be done on the same day and the results will be declared.
Mashqoor Ahmad Usmani from Bihar is currently the student union president in AMU. he was elected in December 2017. Sajjad Rathar is currently the Vice President and Mohammad Fahad is the secretary who were elected in 2017. Last year, 18,200 students had voted in the elections.
The AMU occupies a unique position amongst universities and institutions of higher learning in the country. Established in 1920, it was evolved out of the Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College (MAO College) which was set up in 1877 by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.
The AMU offers more than 300 courses in the traditional and modern branches of education. In some courses, seats are reserved for students from SAARC and Commonwealth Countries. It ranks 8th among the top 20 research universities in India.
