Civilian injured in Mendhar mine blast

MENDHAR (POONCH), Oct 17: A civilian was injured in a landmine blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar sector of Poonch district on Wednesday.
Official sources said a civilian, identified as Mohammed Ramzan, 20, son of Mohammed Hussain resident of Deri Dabsi, tehsil Balakote was injured in the blast near LoC in Mendhar area of the Poonch district.
“This evening at about 1535 hours, Mohammed Ramzan was cutting grass and grazing cattle in a field at Ajit-ll Ambush point near forward Indian post Gun Tekri of 12 Madras when he accidentally stepped on an anti-personnel mine which at once exploded rendering him injured. He got multiple splinter injuries on his head, abdomen (left side) and both hands,” sources added.
He was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital Mendhar for treatment was later referred to Rajouri.
