IGP Jammu Zone exhorts officers, jawans to be vigilant
POONCH, Nov 24: IGP Jammu Zone, Dilbag Singh today eulogized the role of Police and other security forces in fighting militancy and maintaining of law and order in the district. He exhorted upon all the officers and jawans to be vigilant and not to be complacent as the peace achieved by hard work and many sacrifices may not be disturbed by the anti-national elements inimical to the peace.

Addressing jawans here during a darbar he directed them to have proactive approach and quick response to the problems of the general masses.

During his visit to Pir-Ki-Gali, IGP reviewed the deployment on the Mughal road. He also visited Police Post Behramgallaha, Police Station Surankote, Police Station Mandi and Police Station Poonch. SP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain briefed IGP about the overall crime and militancy situation of the district and strength of deployment of the police personnel in different subordinate units. While interacting with officers and jawans at Police Stations and police posts he emphasized to work with great zeal and zest besides having good rapport with general public. He also stressed for qualitative and professional investigation of the cases, arrest of absconders, tracing of missing persons and updating of record of the Police Stations.

He also visited the LoC at different locations besides also held darbar of Jawans at PS Poonch. Earlier he also attended the closing ceremony of T-20 cricket tournament organized by District Police Poonch besides opening of youth club having library facilities, internet and different indoor games at Krishan Chander Garden Poonch for the youth of the border town.

At Krishna Ghati area, IGP interacted with Commander K.G Brigade, Brig. T.S Sandu and other army officers of the brigade. All the issues of border management and recent incidents of cease fire violations from across were discussed threadbare. IGP stressed for goods synergy between local police and army for achieving the desired goals. IGP also visited the LoC stretch of Balnoi area where officiating Commanding Officer of 1 MLI briefed him about the pattern of deployment along the LoC.

DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, Sh. Danish Rana-IPS and SP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain, Adl SP Yougal Manhas accompany the IGP during his visit to the District.
