Seminar on “Tara Smailpuri’ concludes at Bhaderwah Campus

BHADERWAH, Sep 30: A two-day’ National Seminar on renowned Dogri poet and great contributor to Dogri language (idioms and proverbs), Tara Smailpuri organized by Sahitya Academy in collaboration with the department of English , Bhaderwah Campus, JU was concluded here today.
It was started on September 28, with the Poets meet from Jammu, Udhampur, Ram Nagar and Bhaderwah namely Prof. Champa Sharma, Inderjeet Kesar, Prof. Shashi Pathania, Vijaya Thakur, Sandeep Dubey, Yash Raina, Randhir Raipuria, and local poets from Bhaderwah namely Bashir Ahmed Mubarak, Chanderkant Amardeep, Des Raj Katal, Manmohan Lal Rahi and Dr. Subhash Chander, HOD, Deptt. of English, Bhaderwah Campus .
The programme was chaired by recipient of Sahitya Akademi award Pradyuman Singh Jindrahia, a veteran folk singer, poet, musician and much more.
In his presidential remarks, Prof. Lalit Magotra appreciated the efforts done by Sahitya Akademi especially Dogri Advisory Board to boost the Dogri language, its literature and particularly by promoting young writers in this venture. He also suggested many other steps to promote and popularize Dogri in the field of media, technology, computer, internet etc. which are the need of the hour.
The Chief Guest of the programme, Prof. M.A. Malik, while speaking on the occasion congratulated to the organizers of the Seminar for taking a such meaningful steps for the development of their language in every sphere of life and side by side keeping the Dogri Movement not only alive but by strengthening it with multidimensional activities, and merging it with the field of technology, which is the demand of present day scenario.
