State Kurash Championship concludes

JAMMU, Nov 23: The 2nd State Open Kurash Championship, organised by the J&K Kurash Association, concluded today with the holding of prize distribution function at Indoor Compex, MA Stadium, here.

Winners of different age and weight categories of both boys and girls were given away medals and certificates. It was disclosed on the occasion that the first position holders of different weight groups will be considered for participation in the forthcoming Senior National Kurash Championship slated to eb held at Rohtak in Haryana from January four to January six.

Prominent among those who were present included Sourav Chowdhary (chairman J&K Kurash Association), Dr Sandeep Singh (president), Dr Seema (general secretary), Rohit Gupta (treasurer), Kunal Chib (joint secretary) and Rajat Sharma (joint secretary).

The Detailed Results:

BOYS: Under 17 yrs: Below 60 kg: Abhshek Chowdhary, Ist; Sahil Dogra, 2nd; Ragun Chowdhary and Munish Khajuria, joint 3rd. Below 66 kg: Virvadhra Singh, Ist; Vipul Koul, 2nd; Amit Sharma and Chetan Bhagat, joint 3rd. Plus 66 kg: Arunesh Sarin, Ist; Varuni Khatri, 2nd; Harsimran and Subesh Singh, joint 3rd. Under 15 yrs: Below 45 kg: Pardeep Singh, Ist; Pranav Sharma, 2nd; Abrar Ahmad and Abhinandan, joint 3rd. Below 50 kg: Ashutosh Raina, Ist; Ajit Behera, 2nd; Ankit Mahajan and Abhay Sharma, joint 3rd.

Below 55 kg: Jeevan Singh, Ist; Vishwas Sharma, 2nd; Puspraj Katoch and Muneesh Sharma, joint 3rd. Below 60 kg: Vishal Parihar, Ist; Anshuman Jakota, 2nd; Mayank Abrol and Akshay Chowdhary, joint 3rd. Plus 60 kg: Dheeraj Kumar, Ist; Karandeep Singh, 2nd; J Sameer and Vivek Slathia, joint 3rd.

Above 20 yrs: Open weight: Ashutosh Khajuria, Ist; Satyajeet Singh Chib, 2nd; Aman Gupta and Vishal Singh, joint 3rd.
