DC declares open cricket tourney at Banihal
RAMBAN, Sep 10: District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today declared open a cricket tournament at Higher Secondary School Banihal, to intensify ongoing Khelo India programme in every corner of the district.

SSP, Ramban, Anita Sharma, SDM, Ramsoo, Viqar Gari, SDM Banihal, Zaheer Abass, CEO, A.H Fani, DYSSO, Sukhdev Raj Sharma, Principal GDC Banihal and officers of various departments were present on the occasion.

DDC interacted with the participants and urged the youth for active participation in all sports activities for their all-round development.

Speaking on the occasion DDC said that on the playfields of across the district Ramban recent days, youths can often be seen playing several games and this is because the launch of an integrated youth engagement programme under Khelo India “Sports for Peace and Development" and district administration Ramban is being provided opportunities to youngsters of different age groups to play their desired games in suitable atmosphere.

He further said that this initiative is really to introduce the sports to youngsters and teach them the fundamentals and the basics besides providing them a place to start with the game.

In cricket Changloo panchyat team won the match with four wickets by achieving the target of 132 run by defeating Doligam Panchyat Cricket Club Mr. Amir Wani secured 41 run for the wining team and in Kho-Kho girls of Gund Adalkot won the competition by defeating Tethar Panchyat.

The event that is being conducted for the students and other youths are Football, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Cricket, Athletics and rural sport Wrestling besides other games at District Head Quarter and other Zones.
