Volleyball league organises at Reasi

JAMMU, Sep 7: With an aim to inculcate sportsman spirit amongst the youth of Reasi, Rajouri and Ramban Districts a Volleyball Tournament was conducted from September 2 to 7 at Sports Stadium Reasi by the Indian Army.

The event is part of the Army’s efforts to promote positive youth development through sports and provide a platform to showcase the hidden talent of local populace.

A total of seven teams of Reasi, Rajouri and Ramban Districts participated in the tournament on league cum knock-out basis. Uniform Force team was eventually adjudged the champion team after beating Gool team in a keenly contested match. The event witnessed an over whelming response both in terms of participation and spectators. Over 400 locals turned up to witness the matches during the conduct of the tournament. All the participating team members displayed excellent sportsman spirit during the conduct of the tournament.

The General Officer Commanding Uniform Force felicitated the finalists, prizes were given to the winner, runners up and the best player at the end of the programme. GOC expressed his happiness over the enthusiasm shown by the teams. He also complimented the locals for making this event a grand success and was convinced that such kind of events help in better coordination and synergy between the Army, local administration and the AWAM.
