NC SC Cell seeks restoration of reservation in promotion for SC employees in J&K
JAMMU, Aug 9: National Conference Schedule Caste Cell on Thursday expressed concern over implementation of various decisions for empowerment and upliftment of weaker sections of society.

At a meeting held under the chairmanship Vijay Lochan Co- Chairman SC Cell in RS Pura, a resolution was adopted for restoration of reservations to the employees belonging to SC community across the state earnestly.

The meeting was organized by Dev Raj, Vice President SC Cell National Conference of Jammu Rural B.

Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Lochan regretted that the reservation in promotion has not been restored in J&K State till date inspite of the clear instructions of the Ministry of Personal , Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personal and Training to central government offices, Union Territories as well as state governments.

He said the instructions clearly make this mandatory for all to continue with the existing system of reservation in promotions. He said the issue has already been taken with the Chief Secretary but no action has been taken so far. "This has debarred and deprived the employees of the reserved category of their genuine right", he added

Vijay Lochan made a passionate appeal to the Governor J&K N N Vohra to look into the matter for restoration of Reservation in promotion as per the renewed instructions by the Centre.

Those present in the meeting included Charanjeet Bhagat, Daljit Sharma, Rakesh Dogra, Rajesh Kumar, Ram Lal , Pritam Chand and others.
