Anantnag lawyers protest over Article 35A

ANANTNAG, July 31: Lawyers in Anantnag on Tuesday held protests against the attempts to abrogate Article 35 A. Scores of lawyers from district court Anantnag took out a protest rally from court complex and marched towards business center Lal Chowk.
Carrying placards and banners and chanting slogans like 'Ye Mulk hamara hai is Ka Faisala hum karenge' and 'Jis Kashmir ko khoon se sencha Woh Kashmir hamara hai' the lawyers marched through various market places. The protesting lawyers moved from Lal chowk back to district court complex raising slogans in favour of the protection of the Article 35 A.
The protest march was led by the Anantnag Bar Association president , Fayaz Ahmad Sodagar. Speaking to reporters, the Bar president said that they won't allow fiddling with Article 35 A which protects the dignity and rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
"Attempts are being made to bring changes in the article but we will protest tooth and nail if even any minor changes are brought into it," Sodagar said.
