Rana exhort people to imbibe spirit of love, compassion

JAMMU, July 5: Minister for Planning and Development, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, accompanied by Legislator and Provincial President National Conference Jammu, Devender Singh Rana on Friday paid obeisance at Gurdwara Tali Sahib, Canal Road here and prayed for peace and tranquillity in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a big congregation, held on the auspicious occasion of Gurupurab, the Planning Minister dwelt on the life and teachings of Guru Hargobind Singhji, saying that great gurus preached for building of a harmonious society based on love, compassion and mutual co-existence. The spirit of this eternal message holds relevance now more than ever before as intolerance and greed was spreading tentacles and eating up the vitals social fabric, he added.
Sadhotra highlighted the valour of Guru Hargobindji and said the path shown by him will continue to guide the mankind and help in making this world a better place to live in.
The Minister called upon the people to work for strengthening the bonds of brotherhood between various communities, which is the essence of great Gurus.
Speaking on the occasion, Devender Singh Rana referred to the valour and far sight of Guru Hargobind Singhji and said His spiritual as well as temporal spirit shall remain a guiding principle for working towards a just society based on equality, justice and compassion.
Greeting the people on Gurupurab, Rana said the preaching of righteousness, love and truth have been guiding the humanity for centuries and helping it to overcome the evils of hatred and intolerance. He hoped that such festivals would strengthen the bonds of amity between various communities and be harbinger of peace and tranquillity in the State.
Provincial Secretary National Conference, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed was among those present on the occasion. He also greeted the Sikh brethren on Gurupurab.
