`Utterances of Kamal seditious’: Harsh dares Cong to withdraw support to NC
KT NEWS SERVICE
JAMMU, Nov 19: Ridiculing its casual and highly guarded statements condemning, what he chose to describe as “anti-India utterances” of senior NC leader Dr Mustafa Kamal, JKNPP MLA and its chairman Harsh Dev Singh today dared Congress to withdraw its support to National Conference.

Harsh said that the Congress leaders, who were known for paying lip service to address public sentiments, resorted to treachery and deceit in the present case as well. He said that Congress leaders had been too cautious in the use of words in dealing with seditious statements of Dr Mustafa Kamal so that alliance was not disturbed and the formality of criticism was also fulfilled.

Accusing the Congress leaders of having resorted to double standards, Harsh said that they had always been following the policy of running with the hare and hunting with the hound. He said the some Congress leaders even made a statement of withdrawal of support to NC. Daring those leaders to step forward to translate their threat into reality, Harsh said that public was eagerly awaiting their response and merely mouthing platitudes and making statements for media consumption was not enough. He deplored that the Congress had not only continued its support to NC but had entered into fresh alliance with NC for the four seats of MLCs from Panchayat quota.

He said all this indicated how desperate the Congress party was for clinging on to power. Cautioning the Congress of its fast eroding credibility, he said the party should honour public sentiment and reconsider its decision of not only alliance in MLC elections but also of continuing in the coalition government. Daring the Congress to withdraw support to NC government, he said it was a litmus test for the Congress which should consider this as the final opportunity for its sustenance.

Harsh further said that this was not the first time when NC leaders had made such seditions, contemptuous and highly disparaging comments. He said even the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah himself had made a statement in 2010 autumn session of J&K Legislature in Srinagar that J&K had not merged with Indian Union but only acceded to it on certain terms. He said even his statement had invited unprecedented criticism and public fury in the state and outside but the highly accommodating Congress refused to act even at that point of time. He said the Congress imbecility and feebleness had been a constant source of encouragement to NC leaders who had been frequently making highly inglorious, obnoxious and igniting statements on India, the Indian army and Indian security forces.

Sounding a note of caution to NC-Congress coalition, he said that the people of country should never accept any threat to integrity and sovereignty of the nation.

Terming the utterances of Kamal as seditious, he sought initiation of proceedings under Section 124-A against NC leader and dismissal of the coalition government for its leaders directly and indirectly aiding and abetting such seditious statements and anti national utterances.
