IPSC U-14 basketball championship organises at Sainik School Nagrota

JAMMU, Jul 7: The Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC) U-14 Basketball Championship for boys got off to a spectacular start at Sainik School Nagrota yesterday.
In a colourful opening ceremony held at the school stadium, Capt A Muthuraman, Principal declared the event “open” and mentioned that it was the maiden opportunity for Sainik School Nagrota to host a sporting event under the banner of IPSC which is a conglomerate of reputed residential public schools of the country.
Addressing on this occasion, the Chief Guest expressed confidence that the participating teams of elite public schools, LK Singhania School Gotan, The Daly College Indore, Punjab Public School Nabha, Modern School Delhi, The Mann School Delhi, Pinegrove School Dharampur (HP), Sainik School Kunjpura and the hosts Sainik School Nagrota will demonstrate highest standards of sportsmanship and uphold the true spirit of IPSC throughout the championship.
Soon after the Opening Ceremony, matches were played between The Mann School and Sainik School Nagrota in Pool I and LK Singhania School Gotan and Modern School Delhi in Pool II at the newly renovated Basketball courts of the school. The tournament is scheduled to be held from 07 to 10 July 2018. Boys selected through this tournament will go on to represent IPSC in SGFI Championship at national level.
