PNBMT delegtion meets NC Addl Gen Secy

JAMMU, July 5: A delegation of Prem Nath Bhat memorial trust (PNBMT) under its Chairman Arjan Nath Pandita met D. Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal Additional General Secretary J&K National Conference at the National Conference party office in Sher –i- Kashmir Bhawan here today to discuss the “ Kashmir Hindhu Shrines and Religious places ( management and regulation ) bill of 2009” .
They expressed their desire to see this bill passed in the next session of the J&K Legislature .They also raised many issues connected with their places
of worship which suffered neglect during the last over two decades and also had documents to show illegal change of hands of this property
.They favoured inclusion of the representatives of all Hindus of Kashmir based in Kashmir with exclusion of Hindu Shrines of Jammu and
ladakh region.
Dr Kamaal told the group of Kashmiri Pandits affiliated to the Prem Nath Bhat memorial Trust that it was the endeavour of the
Govt. to pass the law to enable the community to manage their religious affairs under a proper legal frame work which will allow
them make all accountable for the neglect and mismanagement of the religious places .over last two decades .They also said that the Prem
Nath Bhat memorial Trust is in a position to bring under its umbrella various Kashmiri Hindu groups for the effective and just
implementation of this law .
Jagdish Dutt Sodi is founder member OBC cell of National Conference Party also met Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal Additional General Secretary National Conference. He expressed his unhappiness of the fact that OBC is a large group comprising 25 % of Jammu population but has not progressed as
SC group has which also comprises 25% of Jammu population . He rued that SC population has made it big in these decades leaving OBC way
behind even though they suffered as much in Pre -1947 era as did the majority population of Kashmir and the SC population of Jammu.
