Dialogue only way to obtain solution to any vexed problem : Vakil
JAMMU, July 5: Former Minister and Member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today insisted upon the leaders of Hurriyat Conference to desist from boycott politics instead allow the people to vote in elections which will undoubtedly result in bringing to forefront qualified, honest and dedicated people that is imperative for overall speedy development and in the interest of common masses.

He reiterated that dialogue is a best and only way to obtain solution to any vexed problem in a peaceful way. He mentioned that Separatists would do a

favour to themselves by desisting from resorting to undemocratic acts”. Vakil described election boycott as very unfortunate as it

will once again facilitate corrupt people to occupy centre stage in the state through malpractice.

Addressing party workers conventions at Wanpora, Doabagah, and Thagund in Baramulla, he said that the election boycott call satisfies the purpose of those persons who had always looted the state exchequer day in and day out and emboldens them in their nefarious designs to weaken the state on all fronts, that too at the cost of poor and innocent people. He said that boycott can’t provide a direct or indirect solution to any problem but will impede the development and prosperity of the state.

Vakil urged Hurriyat leaders to give up nagging attitude as Central Government headed by Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has always welcomed and preferred dialogue over “Bullet for Bullet” policy and would welcome them wholeheartedly, if they return to the table for resolving the Kashmir issue. He said that Centre is keen to re-engage separatists for finding an honorable solution of Kashmir problem and reiterated that Congress led UPA government intends to turn the clock back and reinvigorate the Kashmir of 70’s and 80’s. “An era, when economy of Kashmir was booming with heavy influx of tourists and people would prefer visiting Kashmir over Switzerland,” added Vakil.
