Seminar on promotion of Indian style wrestling concludes
JAMMU, July 3: J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with Navratra Festival Wrestling Association Katra organized a 2nd historic Seminar on promotion of Indian Style Wrestling at Hotel Shree Palace, Railway Road, Katra at Province Level.

Sudershan Kumar chief Executive Officer Katra Development Authority cum Administrator Katra Municipality was the chief guest. Tehsildar Katra Sher Singh, Zonal Education Officer Harish Dubey and Dr Chander Mohan were the guests of honour on the occasion. President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and Member J&K State Sports Council presided over the function.

Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India Shiv Kumar Sharma in his welcome address high lighted the aim and objective of holding of Seminar on promotion of Indian Style Wrestling which includes Exposure of the talent hidden in rural area, to keep alive traditional rural sports which started in Maha Bharat times, to provide the opportunity to the youth who have such talent in general and particularly participants of this rural sports may get the benefit in Employment which is the need of hour besides diversion of rural youth in such game which have a less costume and Economical.

Shiv Sharma further stressed upon the various Heads of Dangal Committees to fallow the rule of wrestling so that J&K you can participate at national level and international level and bring laurl for the J&K State.

Sudershan Kumar CEO KDA while speaking on the occasion hailed the efforts of the Wrestling Association for promoting Indian Style Wrestling in the State and appeal to the youth to come forward and participate in Indian Style Wrestling which will help in all round development of youths and keep fit in the whole life.

Different experts and dignitaries spoke on the occasion including General Secretary J&K Indian Style wrestling Association and Retd. Tehsildar Bansi Lal Tidyal, Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association and Prithvi Raj Sharma, Chairman technical Committee J&K Mulk Raj Sharma NIS Wrestling Coach, President Hotel and Restaurant Association Katra Sham Lal Kesar, Senior Vice President Hotel and Restaurant Association Katra Rakesh Wazir, Sardari Lal Dubey, District Udhampur President Varinder Kumar Sharma, Om Parkash Verma, Surinder Kumar Sharma, General Secretary Domana Akhara and Naib Sarpanch Raj Hussain, Advocate Pawan Dev Singh besides heads of Various Dangal Committees.

About 125 members of 41 Dangal Committees of Jammu region Members of State association and Katra Wrestling Association participated in the historioc Seminar, Members of J&K State Indian Style Wrestling Association, Member of District Indian Style Wrestling Association and Members of Navratra Festival Wrestling Association. Decision were taken for improvement of Wrestling such as opening of new Akhara at Tehsil Level, revive of old akharas, Contact dangals in a better way, help poor wrestlers, rules and regulation in the Dangal, transparency in accounts and stoppage of fixing of bouts during the wrestling competition,dangal.

Naresh Kumar alias Pappu Lakri while presenting vote of thanks on the occasion threw light on the various precautions which Wrestlers and organizers of Wrestling events should follow during holding of Dangal in their respective areas. Mulk Raj Sharma conducted the proceeding of the Seminar which was appreciated by all the participants.
