Sopore police recovers minor, kidnapper arrested

SRINAGAR, May 13: On 12-05-2018, Police Station Sopore received a written complaint from a person namely Ghulam Rasool Sofi resident of Sopore, stating that his minor nephew (name withheld) was kidnapped near Shalimar Colony on 11-05-2018 during evening hours.
On receipt this information, Police Station Sopore swiftly registered a case and a team led by SHO Sopore under the supervision of SDPO Sopore started investigation.
After strenuous efforts, the kidnapper identified as Shaheen Hassan Bhat resident of Rebban Sopore was arrested and taken into Police custody for further investigation. It is pertinent to mention here that the minor (name withheld) has been allegedly sodomized by the kidnapper. After completion of medical formalities the minor (name withheld) was later handed over to his family.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 122/2018 under section 363,377 RPC stands registered in Police Station Sopore.
