Kathua police solves hit and run case

KATHUA, May 9: Kathua police today solved hit and run case within hours of incident in which three persons died and four others were critically injured.

The incident took place at around 8am near Seswan Morh Chadwal where a speedy truck crushed a group of labours who were sitting on road side and fled away.

Two persons namely Manoj and Mahavir died on the spot in the accident and five others were critically injured. All the injured were instantly shifted to Hiranagar Hospital and from where all were referred to GMC Jammu. One more injured person succumbed to injuries on way to GMC Jammu.

Kathua Police instantly took cognizance and acting swiftly with the help of CCTV cameras installed on the way identified few suspected vehicles. Based on the information collected from spot and CCTV footage identified the suspect vehicle and after hard chase, police team led by Inspector Sarabjeet Singh SHO PS Rajbagh caught the truck.

Police registered a case FIR no 117/2018 u/s 279, 304A RPC at Police Station Rajbagh and arrested the accused namely Malkeet Singh S/o Kulvinder Singh Rajput/o Batala Gurdaspur Punjab.

Swift action of police is widely appreciated by people of the area.
