Mehbooba is in power without power: Mirwaiz
JRL calls for shutdown today also against Shopian killings
SRINAGAR, May 7: The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik have called for a shutdown tomorrow also against the killings in Shopian.

In a statement they said, “The protest strike against Shopian massacre and bloodbath will continue tomorrow.”

JRL also condemned the foiling of its march to civil secretariat here against the killings by the authorities by imposing restrictions and arresting those trying to march towards the secretariat. “Decision of foiling the protest marches of lawyers, traders, and employees towards civil secretariat, imposition of curfew in entire downtown and caging the entire resistance leadership reflects frustration and acceptance of defeat by the government,” the statement said.

Earlier, addressing media persons before his arrest at Nigeen here, Mirwaiz said Mehbooba Mufti despite being in power is without power. “She is in power but actually has no power. The conscience of PDP is dead and that is why they continue in power,” he said.

Referring to the recent interview of tourism minister Tasaduq Mufti, the Hurriyat (M) chairman said, “The brother of Mehbooba Mufti Sahiba has admitted that their coalition with BJP is pushing the youth towards bloodshed. He has described themselves as partners in crime but I say they are partners in genocide.”

Mirwaiz alleged that Government of India wants to create an Afghanistan like situation in Kashmir so that every youth picks up gun. “They want to create an Afghanistan like situation here by pushing the people and youth in particular to wall. They are forcing everybody including educated, professionals, and research scholars to take to gun and get killed. Mehbooba Mufti sahiba is helplessly watching the deteriorating situation and going by the directions of Delhi,” he said.
