Man goes missing from Mankote

MENDHAR, Apr 17: Police on Tuesday recovered a body of a 28-year-old person under mysterious conditions in forest area of Mendhar in border Poonch district.
Official sources said that some locals this morning spotted the body lying in the forest area of Bonala and immediately informed the concerned police station about it. A police team reached the site and recovered the body, they said. A police officer while confirming the incident and identified the deceased as Azad Parvez (28) son of Mohammed Iqbal of Chhatral Mendhar.
Azad according to the official had been missing since last evening. The body was taken to Sub-District Hospital Mendhar for conducting all legal medico formalities including the postmortem.
“A case under 174 CrPc was registered and further investigations initiated to ascertain the cause of death,” the official added.
According to SDPO Mendhar, a sickle and a bootle of poison were also recovered from the spot near his body.
In the meanwhile, in a separate case, a woman lodged a missing complaint with the Mendhar Police Station today.
In the complaint, the woman stated that her husband Rajinder Singh, 30, son of Sunder Singh, a resident of Mankote of Mendhar tehsil had been missing since April 12, 2018. “He left the house on the fateful day and did not return thereafter, since then his whereabouts are not known,” she said.
