State Indian Style Wrestling Championship on March 25, 26: Shiv Kumar

JAMMU, Mar 23: J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association shall be holding 10th J&K State Senior and Junior Indian Style Wrestling Championship for Men 2017-18 will we held at Mahavir Akhara, Shastri Nagar Jammu on March 25 and 26.
The two day championship is being organized by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council. Those interested wrestlers have been advised to report on 25th March at evening at Hotel India Pride Jammu for weighing in.
President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma said the weight categories are 51 Kgs, 61 Kgs, 67 Kgs, 75 Kgs, 85 Kgs, 97 Kgs and +97 Kgs, up to 120 Kgs.
General Secretary of State Association Bansi Lal Tidyal said the championship will be conducted on Knock out basis. The rules and regulations of ISWAI will be strictly followed.
Chairman of the State Association Prem Choudhary said the Medals (Gold, Silver and Bronze) and Merit certificates will be awarded to the Wrestlers of all weight categories. The team championship trophy and runner-up will be given to the Districts/Units which will secure maximum points.
Treasurer of the State Association P.R Sharma said first prize winner Wrestler in each weight will get cash awarded of Rs. 1,500 while 2nd prize winner get Rs. 1,000 3rd and 4th palace winner get Rs. 500 each.
Director of the competition Mulk Raj Sharma said Wrestlers are asked to bring their red and Blue Jangias for the championship. No wrestler shall be allowed to enter the Akhara without his Jangia.
To and Fro plus food allowances/refreshment will be given to the participating wrestlers by the association said Shiv Kumar Sharma.
