Motorcycle expedition flagged off

JAMMU, Mar 13: A motorcycle rally for peaceful and progressive Kashmir comprising 20 volunteer youth from Budgam district was flagged off on 12 Mar 18 from Budgam by Army.
The rally was organised to give an impetus to peace and normalcy in the district and at the same time address the key issues of development of the society as a whole for integration into National mainstream. The Bike rally was planned keeping in mind the biking passion amongst the youth of Kashmir and to establish an immediate connect with the young ignited minds of Budgam. The bikers traversed over a distance of 150 Kms in the district, spreading the message of Peace and Harmony.
The rally endeavored to promote women empowerment during the International Women Week, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme of the Central Govt, cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharat programme and most importantly awareness against menaces of drug addiction. The bikers also presented stationary items to the students at Beerwah, Arzal, Bugur and Chadoora to promote education and motivated young minds to focus on their education. Various other items to include sports kits, Disability aids to Handicap individuals, winter clothing kits and solar lanterns for poor and needy were also distributed as part of the rally. The Motorcycle Rally in Budgam has been a forthcoming step by Army towards their motto of establishing peace in Kashmir and has brought to the fore, willingness of the society to contribute in realizing tenacious efforts of Army for the betterment of the society. The rally earned a marvelous response from the people of Budgam district and will go a long way in motivating the people to strive hard for development and peace in the district.
