Traffic restored on NH after 5 hrs

BANIHAL, Mar 12: Vehicular traffic movement on 300 kilometers long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway restored after it remained suspended for more than five hours due to massive landslide from a hilllock near Maroog in Ramban district.
Reports said that at about 3:15 PM massive landslide hit Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at landslide prone zone of Maroog. Hundreds of vehicles, including passenger-vehicles which were heading towards Srinagar got stranded at different places at Ramban and Chanderkoot on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Road maintenance agency HCC pressed its men and machinery on job for earlier restoration of traffic on National Highway.
The debris of landslide was cleared after efforts of excavator operators and highway was through at 8 PM. Even after restoration of traffic on highway, reports of road jamming received from a number of places.
