4 held; 6 bovines rescued in Udhampur
Illicit liquor seized, 1 arrested
UDHAMPUR, Mar 12: Udhampur police today rescued 6 bovine animals at Manwal, Udhampur and arrested four persons.

In a separate operation, the police here also seized 40 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested one person in this connection.

Based on reliable information, police party of Police Station Majalta led by Inspector Urfaan Parveez under the supervision of Jagdev Singh Slathia SDPO Ramnagar laid a naka for checking and frisking at Manwal. During naka checking, police party intercepted one Tata xenon pickup truck bearing registration no. Jk19 5361 stopped for checking. During the search of said vehicle 6 bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this vehicle. All the bovine animals were rescued. The accused viz., driver Sameer Ahmed son of Mushtaq Ahmed resident of Banihal, Farooq Malik son of Abdul Aziz resident of Chamalwas Banihal, Mohammed Rafiq son of Qasim resident of Qazigund at present Jaganoo Morh, Basharat son of Miyan resident of Doru tehsil and district Anantnag at present Jaganoo Morh were arrested on spot and the vehicle was also seized.

In this connection, a case FIR No. 15/2018 U/S 188 RPC 3 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Majalta and further investigation was going on.

In a separate operation, the police seized 40 pouches of illicit liquor

Based on a reliable information, police party of Police Station Udhampur led by Inspector Sanjeev Gupta under the supervision of Kameshwar Puri, DySp Hqrs. Udhampur arrested one suspected person at Udhampur and during his search 40 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. Suspected person namely Amit Kumar son of Suraj Parkash resident of Sarota, Latti, Udhampur was arrested on the spot and 40 pouches of illicit liquor were also seized.

In this connection, a Case FIR no. 108/2018 u/s 48 A Excise Act was registered at Police Station Udhampur and investigation started.
