1 killed, 16 injured in separate incidents at Doda, Ramban

BHADERWAH/ BANIHAL, Feb 15: One person was killed and sixteen injured in two separate incidents on Thursday at Bhaderwah and Banihal areas in Doda and Ramban district.
An official said that the first incident occurred in the morning at Donadi in Bhaderwah when a cab skidded off the road and fell into a gorge.
Police said that all the injured were later shifted to Thathri hospital, where from the two injured were referred to Doda district hospital for specialized treatment.
Later, officials said that one of the injured identified as Jarnail Singh, 38 from Nagni succumbed to his injuries at the district hospital.
The injured were identified as Fareed Ahmed and Karan Singh of Nagni, while Bhawan Singh, Alam Din, Syeda Begum and Nasreena Bano belonged to Parshalla.
A case was registered by the police regarding the incident.
In the meanwhile, ten passengers were injured in a separate incident on Srinagar-Jammu national highway near Banihal.
Police said that on Thursday, a Tata sumo bearing registration number JK19 7721 on way to Magerkoote from Banihal collided with a Mini Bus bearing registration number JK06 1107 coming from opposite direction. All the ten passengers boarded on Tata Sumo got sustained injuries and were shifted to Sub District Hospital Banihal for treatment.
The injured were identified as Mashkoor Ahmed, 39, son of Ahmadulla resident of Karwan Neel, Saira Banoo, 16, daughter of Mohammad Yasin resident of Neel, Mohammad Shafi, 30, son of Abdul Ghani resident of Amkot, Mohammad Yasin (Driver), 40, son of Safudin resident of Amkot Banihal, Jaswant Singh, 32, son of Ram Singh resident of Rajgad Ramban, Mohammad Hanief, 45, son of Gulab Din resident of Rajouri, Subreena Banoo, 9, daughter of Shakeel Ahmed resident of Ramban, Mohammad Shafi, 30, son of Abdul Aziz resident of Chanderkot, Rashid Ahmed, 30, son of Banshir Ahmed resident of Sherbibi and Abdul Quyoom, 40, son of Mohammad Ibrahim resident of Chamalwas.
