Govt exempts toll on various export items

JAMMU, Feb 6: As announced by the Finance Minister Dr Haseeb A Drabu in the Budget 2018-19, the Government has exempted toll on various items which are being imported to the state.
"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the Jammu & Kashmir Levy of Toll Act, Samvat 1995 (Act No VIII of 1995), the Government hereby directs that import of following items including Sanitary items (Toilets seats-Indian, Western & Urinals, Washbasin, Pedestal, Bidet, Bathtub, Sink and accessories like soap holder, towel rod and toilet paper holder, Taps, showers, Faucets shall not include pipes to be used for bathroom fittings) shall be exempt from payment of Toll leviable under the said Act," said SRO-68 issued by the Finance Department.
Besides, Jaggery (Gur), Sugar, Medicines for human and animal consumption, Vegetables (leafy, Non-leafy including Onion, Potato, Garlic and Ginger etc.), Newsprint paper, Tea, Tree Spray Oil, Wheat seed, Salt (Iodized), Soaps (Soaps used by humans for bathing, washing of clothes and utensils and Detergents (liquid, cakes and powder), Narial (Coconut with water) and Pulses have also been exempted from paying toll while their import to the state. This notification shall come in force w.e.f. February 6, 2018.
