Farooq questions govt on Panchayat polls

SRIONAGAR, Feb 3: National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah today asked as to how the state government will conduct panchayat elections in whole state in prevailing situation when it could not hold polls for Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency last year.
He was talking to reports in Ganderal. “The state government was unable to conduct parliament elections in a single seat of Anantnag constituency. This is just a small part of Kashmir. How can it conduct Panchayat elections in entire state,”Farooq said.
NC president urged the government to expedite the work on the Z-morh tunnel as such a styep was very imperative for the people of two regions.
Dr Abdullah was in Gund to condole the demise of noted social activist and ex -NC block president Haji Sheikh Mohammad Yousuf who passed away last month. NC president was accompanied by former minister and MLA Kangan Mian Altaf Ahmad and political advisor to Omar Abdullah Tanvir Sadiq
