Life returns to normal in Pulwama Shopian shuts for 6th day

SRINAGAR, Jan 30: A shutdown was observed in Shopian for the sixth consecutive day today against recent killings.
However, life returned to normal in neighbouring Pulwama after days of shutdown.
Following improvement in the situation, the rail services between Baramulla and Banihal were restored today.
However, internet services continued to remain suspended in the twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama.
The snapping of internet service has added to problems of local population.
Reports said shops, other business establishments, government and private offices continued to remain closed in Shopian district while public and private transport was off the roads.
Two civilians - Javaid Ahmad Bhat of Balpora Shopian and Suhail Javaid Lone of Gawanpora were killed on Saturday afternoon when army opened fire on protesters in Ganowpora.
Prior to the killing of two youth Shopian was shut over the killing of two militants in an encounter and that of a civilian in security forces firing on protestors at Chaigund village.
