Separatists put under house arrest, govt appeals for peace

SRINAGAR, Sep 13: Police this evening put under house arrest senior separatist leaders fearing trouble on the anti Islamic movie.
Police and security personnel were deployed around the residences of the separatists to prevent them from moving out and holding protests.
Meanwhile, the state government tonight denounced the anti Islamic video clip, an official spokesman said. He said such acts are aimed at causing discord among the people of different faiths.
The official spokesman said that such video clips cause great anguish among the peace loving citizens and posting of such video clips on the Social Media and Networking sites is not acceptable in any society and the Government is making every effort to ensure that such video clips carrying blasphemous content are blocked and removed from the cyberspace. The spokesman, further, appealed to people to maintain calm and peace.
