DC constitutes 5-member team to probe into minorities’ allegations

POONCH, Jan 13: Deputy Commissioner Poonch today constituted five-member Special Investigative Team headed by ADC Poonch Basharat Hussain to probe into allegations of minority community with regard to tampering of revenue record.
Official sources said taking the allegations seriously, the Deputy Commissioner Poonch constituted five- member team and asked it to scrutinize the record minutely and submit the report within a stipulated time.
Earlier the people of minority community had expressed resentment against Revenue department Poonch for tampering records of large number of prime locations in Poonch city in favour of Auqaf and transferring the land to Auqaf. The people of minority community alleged that Revenue department was converting various lands in favour of Auqaf including land of Degree College ground and media complex. They said, “Auqaf authorities were issuing notices to even army also in addition to many people in the city and it showed that Auqaf and Revenue department were working under a well planned conspiracy to change the demography of Poonch.”
Taking all allegations seriously, the Deputy Commissioner Poonch constituted the team comprising Basharat Hussain, Ashraf Choudhary, Jahangir Khan, Rahul Yadav and Rakesh Kumar Sharma. The team headed by Basharat Hussain ADC Poonch would investigate the allegations and submit the report as early as possible.
Sources said from Monday the team would start working and scrutinize land records of all the places.
