Sheikh Nazir for restoration of autonomy

SRINAGAR, July 16: Asserting that restoration of internal autonomy is
the only acceptable solution to Kashmir issue, National Conference General Secretary Advocate Nazir Ahmad Sunday said that New Delhi and Islamabad had consumed enough time for creating conducive environment, now time has reached for them to come out with
a solution.
In a statement here, he said, New Delhi and Islamabad have consumed lot of time
both at official and political level talks for creating conducive environment for resolution of Kashmir issue.
“Now it is time to act, otherwise people will lost faith in these talks. Sincere and bold initiatives are desperate to be taken. Boarders are calm, people to people contact are better, road, railway and air links are intact, confidence building measure had worked. Now responsibility lies on political leadership to act, otherwise further delay will make worse the problem,” he said.
He said that New Delhi should not remain in this impression that the prevailing peace and normalcy will prevail always, in case Kashmir issue will not get resolved.
“People of the state want a political solution to Kashmir issue, if the solution does not come, people have right to react.”
“People of the state are educated enough about political developments. The National Conference on the other hand will not remain silent and has to respect sentiment of the people,” he said.
“Autonomy has became aspiration of people after it was passed by state assembly and endorsed by Justice Sageer committed headed by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.”
“The centre cannot ignore this document for longer. It is to be implemented without any delay,” he said.
“Party leadership has always favored good Indo-Pak relations and efforts in this direction would continue.”
He said Omar Abdullah is committed for equitable development of all regions of the
state. He said that Omar Abdullah is safeguarding people belonging to every caste, creed, colour and religion as it is the benchmark of National Conference political ideology.
